Summary | 0001517: lex rationale references non-existent references to -c option | ||||||
Description |
On https://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/9699919799/utilities/lex.html [^] There's the following text in the rationale: Even though the -c option and references to the C language are retained in this description, lex may be generalized to other languages, as was done at one time for EFL, the Extended FORTRAN Language. However, the page has no reference of the -c option in the normative text. There's only one other mention of the -c option in the informative text, in the change history. |
||||||
Desired Action |
If the reference to the -c option in the change history isn't what that sentence meant, then change it to: Even though references to the C language are retained in this description, lex may be generalized to other languages, as was done at one time for EFL, the Extended FORTRAN Language. |

The assumption in the Desired Action is correct. This change is accepted. |
