Summary | 0001286: positive increments *increase* the nice value in renice | ||||||
Description |
> Positive increment values shall cause a lower nice value. Negative increment values > may require appropriate privileges and shall cause a higher nice value. No. positive increments increase the nice value (decrease the priority) and negative increments cause a lower nice value (higher priority). The bug was introduced when the spec changed back from using *system scheduling priorities* to *nice value* between SUSv2 and SUSv3 Compare: https://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/007908799/xcu/renice.html [^] https://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/009695399/utilities/renice.html [^] |
||||||
Desired Action |
Trim those 2 lines to only: "Negative increment values may require appropriate privileges." (no need to say that positive increments increase). |
