Summary | 0000742: Generated links are faulty generated
Description |
As can be seen online [1], URLs that are enclosed in angle brackets are faulty generated, because the closing angle bracket is treated as part of the URL. [1] <http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=741#c1760> [^] I.e., the link "https://hg.openindiana.org/upstream/illumos/illumos-gate/file/74a59768760e/usr/src/head/signal.h" [^] actually leads to nowhere because of the appended URL-escaped %3E. |
||||||
Desired Action | Modify the regular expression (guessed) to exclude the trailing angle bracket.

I have edited the Description in 0000741 and the Note: 0001760 that is included in that bug to remove the angle brackets surrounding the URLs. Note also that the links in the Description of this bug work just fine if you leave off the angle brackets and the double quotes and just provide the URLs: 1. http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=741#c1760 [^] 2. https://hg.openindiana.org/upstream/illumos/illumos-gate/file/74a59768760e/usr/src/head/signal.h [^] |

I have updated & added to the Mantis Reporting Help Documentation file, will this do? |

If you're asking me, i'm fine with it. (Note however that first three <li>s look odd [the bullet is not on the same baseline than the text], because the aragraph contains a margin statement. The fourth doesn't because that margin style has been given the but which forms the second rather than the first paragraph.) |

Ooops. How do i prevent interpretation of HTML tags from being interpreted? Anyway, that text used to read: ..three [li]s look odd.. ..because the [p]aragraph.. ..style has been given the [pre] but... Sorry. |

Hmm. I can find no indication of how to not light up URLs. I will look further. I'll try a bulleted list here....

Beautiful. Will you close this, then? |

There is no way at present to "turn off" HTML interpretation in text/notes, except globally (total on/off switch in configuration file for the product). The workaround for submission of code/markup to be discussed is via attaching text files to the issue via the "Upload File" button. |
