Summary | 0000815: sigwaitinfo() equivalence to sigwait() needs additional exception | ||||||
Description |
The sigtimedwait() page says: The sigwaitinfo() function shall be equivalent to the sigwait() function if the info argument is NULL. If the info argument is non-NULL, the sigwaitinfo() function shall be equivalent to sigwait(), except that the selected signal number shall be stored in the si_signo member, and the cause of the signal shall be stored in the si_code member. These equivalence statements do not take into account the difference in return value and error reporting method between sigwaitinfo() and sigwait(): sigwaitinfo() returns a signal number on success and -1 on failure with errno set; sigwait() returns 0 on success and an error number on failure. (This difference also applies to sigtimedwait(), but that will automatically be corrected by fixing the description of sigwaitinfo(), via the equivalence statement in the first paragraph.) |
