Summary |
0000638: bad phrase "shall not perform the link phase and return a non-zero exit status" |
Description |
c99 page says: "When c99 encounters a compilation error that causes an object file not to be created, it shall write a diagnostic to standard error and continue to compile other source code operands, but it shall not perform the link phase and return a non-zero exit status."
I think the last part of this phrase is ambiguous, but I'm not sure, because I'm not native English speaker.
I think one can think that last part means "it shall not perform the link phase and it shall not return a non-zero exit status". And this is probably bad way, because it should be "it shall return a non-zero exit status". |
