Summary | 0000929: Missing "2" in diff -U text about consecutive unaffected lines | ||||||
Description |
In an email thread from Feb 10, Vincent Lefevre reported that the text "If -U n is specified, the output shall contain no more than n consecutive unaffected lines" does not match existing practice, which is to output up to 2*n consecutive unaffected lines. Since the rationale states (line 85403) that the -u and -U options were adopted from GNU diff, it seems clear that this is simply an editorial omission of the digit "2". |
||||||
Desired Action |
Change: shall contain no more than n consecutive unaffected lines to: shall contain no more than 2n consecutive unaffected lines |
