Summary | 0001718: Proofread 'with respect to'
Description | Line 105131 says: > regardless of which prerequisites prog is out-of-date with respect to, [...] The suffix 'with respect to' is hard to parse for non-native English readers.
Desired Action | Reword the sentence to be clearer to non-native English readers.

The description of $^ is worded that way to match the wording of $?:where prog is not out-of-date with respect to file1.o, but is out-of-date with respect to file2.o and file3.o There are 125 other places in the draft using "with respect to". It is in common use in English and we don't know of any alternative wording that would be any easier for non-English speakers to understand. Therefore, this bug is rejected. |
