| Description |
Hi, using pthread_cond_timedwait to block thread for certain time interval. During stress test of application CPU usage is seen as 100% all the time. Googled for this issue with pthread_cond_timedwait and found it is kernal/glibc version issue. Following are the details of image on which stress is being performed [root@localhost xxxxxx]# uname -a Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.32-71.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Sep 1 01:33:01 EDT 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux [root@localhost alepoaaa]# gcc --version gcc (GCC) 4.4.4 20100726 (Red Hat 4.4.4-13) |

It appears that you are reporting a problem specific to your vendor, and not a wording problem in the POSIX standard. As such, it is better to open a support ticket with your vendor. If you have an actual test program to demonstrate your problem, and can prove that the wording currently in POSIX is mistakenly allowing undesirable behavior, then we can reopen this to address a defect in POSIX at that time. |
